Sarah Wareing was appointed as JIBC鈥檚 Dean, Education Services in January 2026. She served as the Interim Vice-President, Academic in 2025 after eight years as the Dean, School of Public Safety.
Sarah joined JIBC鈥檚 Emergency Management Division (EMD) in 2006. During her tenure in EMD she taught in communities across British Columbia, developed curriculum, and implemented and managed JIBC鈥檚 Bachelor of Emergency and Security Management Studies.
Prior to JIBC, Ms. Wareing worked in curriculum development at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and taught a number of subjects, including business communications, at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University and a Master鈥檚 of Education (Adult Education) from the University of British Columbia.
